Im Innenstadt-Trubel sind sie der Ruhepol, musikalische Momente der Entschleunigung w\u00e4hrend das Leben im Zentrum weiter pulsiert: Die traditionsreichen sommerlichen Konzerte am Bachdenkmal, vor der grandiosen Kulisse unserer Thomaskirche. In den letzten Jahren sind sie internationaler geworden, auch der diesj\u00e4hrige Jahrgang bildet keine Ausnahme. Freuen Sie sich auf die weltumspannende Botschaft der Musik, kostenlos erlebbar in der Mitte unserer Stadt. K\u00fcnstlerinnen und K\u00fcnstler aus vielen L\u00e4ndern werden Sie verzaubern, nat\u00fcrlich auch aus unserem Leipzig! Jazz, A-cappella-Gesang, Klassik von Bach bis Gershwin, Alte Musik neu interpretiert aus dem 17. und 18. Jahrhundert – sowie nicht zuletzt ein besonderes Gedenkkonzert am 28. Wie begegnen wir in unserer heutigen Zeit Johann Sebastian Bach und wie begegnet er uns?<\/p>\n

Eine spannende Frage! Denn was w\u00fcrde der f\u00fcr uns mit seiner Musik so bedeutend gewordene Komponist empfinden, wenn er f\u00fcr einen Moment unser \u201eZeitgenosse“ sein k\u00f6nnte? Dar\u00fcber l\u00e4sst sich reichlich fantasieren. Bachs Musik ber\u00fchrt uns ungebrochen. Sie beschenkt uns mit Freude und Trost, vers\u00f6hnt und schafft Verst\u00e4ndigung \u00fcber L\u00e4ndergrenzen hinweg. Wir k\u00f6nnen uns in seiner Musik letztlich selbst begegnen und damit zu einem guten Miteinander finden.<\/p>\n

On Monday, July 28, 2025, we commemorate the 275th anniversary of Johann Sebastian Bach\u2019s death. Together with Thomasorganist Johannes Lang and Peruvian bandoneonist and pianist Claudio Constantini, we will present a special concert in his honor.<\/p>\n

In its 44th year, the Concerts at the Bach Monument bring together international artists for another inspiring summer of music. The opening concert, featuring Art\u2019n\u2019Voices from Poland, and the commemorative concert on July 28 will both take place in St. Thomas Church (Thomaskirche). All other concerts will be held in front of the Bach Monument, weather permitting, or inside the Thomaskirche in case of rain.<\/p>\n

We would like to sincerely thank the City of Leipzig, the Thomaskirche Leipzig, and our sponsors (Sparkasse Leipzig, Bechstein Centrum Leipzig, TeilAUTO, Spirit Legal, Polish Institute Berlin) for their support. The concerts at the Bach Monument have been a special hallmark of Leipzig as a city of music since their founding in 1979. With their diversity and freshness, they are an expression of a lively musical culture. In 1994, the Leipzig city administration asked me to organise the concert series. <\/p>\n

Because of my retirement, I wanted to find a successor last year. I found a very suitable candidate a pianist and project manager Robert Herrmann from Leipzig. <\/p>\n

The joy of being alive that music can convey should continue to be experienced by many people without any admission charge. I wish the guests and participants from near and far an entertaining and enjoyable time full of musical pleasures this year and beyond.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\"kab-peter-zimmer\"\n\tWith best regards
