With works by Bach, Schütz, Mozart and Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, among others, the Dresden Philharmonic Choir will conclude the concerts at the Bach Memorial 2024.
The choir can look back on over 50 successful years, characterized by countless concerts and national and international tours. The ensemble, which currently has around 60 singers, collaborates with numerous choirs and orchestras and regularly performs in Dresden and abroad.
The repertoire includes choral symphonic works, oratorios, and a cappella literature. Radio and CD recordings document the quality, standards, and versatility of the ensemble. Prof. Gunter Berger has been the choir’s artistic director since 2012 and has conducted numerous performances. Since October 2022, Iris Geißler has taken over the role of choir leader.
The Association for the Promotion of the Philharmonic Choir supports the choir financially and in terms of ideas by helping to organize concert projects as well as trips and contributing to their financing.
