Vocalconsort Leipzig - „Warum toben die Heiden"

The programme „Warum toben die Heiden“ of the Vocalconsort Leipzig is dedicated to the 250th anniversary of the death of Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy under the direction of the young Leipzig choral conductor Franziska Kuba.  The 8-part motets op. 78 will be performed, as well as pieces by Purcell, Reger and Berg. A musical journey through the centuries, which the Leipzig ensemble will bring to life with precision and passion.

VOCALCONSORT LEIPZIG

The Vocalconsort Leipzig was founded in 1999 and has since established itself as one of the most distinguished chamber choirs in Saxony. The ensemble is a permanent feature of Leipzig’s cultural life: under the direction of Gregor Meyer (until 2017) and Franziska Kuba (since 2018), the Vocalconsort Leipzig has regularly performed and continues to perform motets in St Thomas’s Church and at the Metten as part of the Bach Festival, and organises its own concerts with programmes by well-known and unknown Leipzig composers.
